Best Java EE Book I've Found

I've tried a few Java EE books, and this is the best one I've found for beginners. As another reviewer said, getting the examples up and running can be a bit challenging as there's not a great walkthrough of configuring and setting up your environment. Other than that, it's a great book.

Very useful book

This book delivers on it's promise.
I started to read it as a complete neophyte and now after I've finished it I have a solid understading of the Java EE platform. It gave me enough of an understanding, that with a help from some online manuals I can start developing Java EE applications.

I'd happily give it 5 stars if it were not for some typos and small editing mistakes I noticed.

About the Author
Molly ONeill is from Daytona State College, where she has taught for 22 years in the School of Mathematics. She has taught a variety of courses from developmental mathematics to calculus. Before she came to Florida, Molly taught as an adjunct instructor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Eastern Michigan University, Wayne State University, and Oakland Community College. Molly earned a bachelor of science in mathematics and a master of arts and teaching from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Besides this textbook, she has authored several course supplements for college algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus and has reviewed texts for developmental mathematics.
I differ from many of my colleagues in that math was not always easy for me. But in seventh grade I had a teacher who taught me that if I follow the rules of mathematics, even I could solve math problems. Once I understood this, I enjoyed math to the point of choosing it for my career. I now have the greatest job because I get to do math every day and I have the opportunity to influence my students just as I was influenced. Authoring these texts has given me another avenue to reach even more students.

Julie Miller is from Daytona State College, where she has taught developmental and upper-level mathematics courses for 20 years. Prior to her work at Daytona State College, she worked as a software engineer for General Electric in the area of flight and radar simulation. Julie earned a bachelor of science in applied mathematics from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and a master of science in mathematics from the University of Florida. In addition to this textbook, she has authored several course supplements for college algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus, as well as several short works of fiction and nonfiction for young readers.
My father is a medical researcher, and I got hooked on math and science when I was young and would visit his laboratory. I can remember using graph paper to plot data points for his experiments and doing simple calculations. He would then tell me what the peaks and features in the graph meant in the context of his experiment. I think that applications and hands-on experience made math come alive for me and I’d like to see math come alive for my students.

Nancy Hyde served as a full-time faculty member of the Mathematics Department at Broward College for 24 years. During this time she taught the full spectrum of courses from developmental math through differential equations. She received a bachelor of science degree in math education from Florida State University and a master’s degree in math education from Florida Atlantic University. She has conducted workshops and seminars for both students and teachers on the use of technology in the classroom. In addition to this textbook, she has authored a graphing calculator supplement for College Algebra.
I grew up in Brevard County, Florida, where my father worked at Cape Canaveral. I was always excited by mathematics and physics in relation to the space program. As I studied higher levels of mathematics I became more intrigued by its abstract nature and infinite possibilities. It is enjoyable and rewarding to convey this perspective to students while helping them to understand mathematics.

Firm valuation is currently a very exciting topic. It is interesting for those economists engaged in either practice or theory, particularly for those in finance. The literature on firm valuation recommends logical, quantitative methods, which deal with establishing today’s value of future free cash flows. In this respect firm valuation is identical with the calculation of the discounted cash flow, DCF. There are, however, different coexistent versions, which seem to compete against each other. Entity approach and equity approach are thus differentiated. Acronyms are often used, such as APV (adjusted present value) or WACC (weighted average cost of capital), whereby these two concepts are classified under entity approach.

Why are there several procedures and not just one? Do they all lead to the same result? If not, where do the economic differences lie? If so, for what purpose are different methods needed? And further: do the known procedures suffice? Or are there situations where none of the concepts developed up to now delivers the correct value of the firm? If so, how is the appropriate valuation formula to be found? These questions are not just interesting for theoreticians; even the practitioner who is confronted with the task of marketing his or her results has to deal with it. The authors systematically clarify the way in which these different variations of the DCF concept are related throughout the book

About the Author
Lutz Kruschwitz (pictured left) is chair of Banking and Finance at the Freie Universität in Berlin. He was born in 1943 in Berlin, Germany, and is a graduate in economics from the Freie Universität in Berlin. His research interest include investment and valuation theory in particular. He has written several bestselling german finance textbooks.

Andreas Löffler is chair of Banking and Finance at the Universität of Hannover. He was born in 1964 in Szeged, Hungary, and is a graduate in mathematics and economics from Universität Leipzig and Freie Universität Berlin. His research interest include decision theory and valuation theory. He has published in a number of academic journals.

1920 Tractor Manual

A bit thin, but informative. Has a few detail the Ford manual leaves out, or makes you hunt for. The pictures aren't as nice or as complete as the Ford shop manual. For general repairs I would recommend this one. I'm deep into some major engine repairs, so I bought both the Ford NH, and this one too.

decent manual, poor quality document

It covers everything at a high level and is missing some details, but I knew that going in. What is frustrating is: a) page one tells you how to find something in the index, but there is no index and b) the wiring diagrams are completely worthless. No terminal numbers are given and only the 2120 has wire colors. They could have tried a little....
