A Black Dagger Juggernaut...
By Autumn
Elise is secretly trying to achieve her dream of being a psychologist to help her ravaged race. As the blooded daughter of the Princeps Felixe the Younger, she is bound by the suffocating rules of the glymera – and they believe that females have little need for intelligence. She knows the risks of stealing out of the family mansion to attend university but she’s far too close to her goal to just give up.

Her father agrees to allow her to continue with her studies on one condition – she goes with a bodyguard. And that bodyguard just happens to be the very male that now haunts her dreams.

Axewell, son of Theirsh, is intimately acquainted with pain. Like many others, Axe lost everything during the raids and it’s the main reason that he became a recruit at the training center.

Fighting alongside of the Brotherhood gives him a freedom that even kink and drugs could not provide – until he met Elise.

Elise deserves so much better than a complete failure with no status and no family. But he can protect her from danger and he doesn’t care if he has to sacrifice his own life to do it.

Rhage and Mary have never been so happy. Now with Bitty as their daughter, their lives are now complete. Giving their young everything that she could ever want and replacing all the memories of her horrific past with ones of love is a blessing beyond anything that they ever thought that they would have.

But their happiness is shattered when someone from Bitty’s bloodline steps forward. Now faced with the prospect of letting her go, they must decide if their love is strong enough to endure a pain that promises to be far greater than anything that they have ever weathered before.

Blood Vow is nothing short of extraordinary! J.R. Ward has once again created a world that I simply wanted to immerse myself in and never leave. Each storyline grabbed me right by the heart and held on without any mercy. I laughed at Lassiter, cried with Mary and fell completely in love right along with Elise.

The Black Dagger Legacy is proving to be so much more than just another spin off series – it’s now a juggernaut all its own…

If Vishous and Qhuinn had baby....

...it would be Axe. Like other 5 star reviews Iove this series. It seems to bring things back to the same vibe as the BDB earlier books in the series when it was more about the couple than tons of plot elements. Which I love.
I still love original series, and lets be real, you have to read these because there is essential plot advancement for the original series.
Since the Shadows gutted me (I'm still not over it...Jesus) its kind of nice to get a little bit back from Ward's original style. But I love her books in any way, and I can't wait to see how all the new characters come together.
I'm normally not so keen when kids are introduced into the plotlines, (personal preference..it just makes it hard on my fantasy life..lol) but I truly like Bitty both in the last BDB book, and now here. Ward does a great job of making her character arc deep and also fun. Bitty is cool.
So Elise and Axe. Love the chemistry and how they seem like opposites but how they actually truly complimented one another. I love how Ward writes her heroines. They are always feminine and strong. I feel like there is so much more to say about how their relationship will evolve. Probably won't ever get that, but you never know.
Speaking of evolving, she lays the ground work for books to come, (hello Saxton & Bitty's uncle...forgot his name, begins with R...& Novo and Pey Pey! !) sounds yeah! !

Don't miss this one.
Anyway, this one is a no brainer for classic Ward fans.
You're gonna love it.

Just okay.
By RomanceReader
I have to agree with some other reviews. This one was, in the end, boring. Just didn't get my "blood" flowing. I'm a huge fan of all her books but this one left me with "yeah, okay, great..." Can we move on now? Did we really need another whole book on Rhage/Mary and Bitty? The uncle could have been introduced quickly and with less long-winded explanation. I'm anxiously waiting for "The Chosen" because the story of Layla and Xcor is much more fascinating. But I do realize that these "accessory" books are needed and they do move other plot lines along but, as I said, this was kinda blah and Elise was hard to like and Axe seemed to recover from his addictions kinda quickly. A week or two? Really? I will always buy her books because she is a wonderful, talented writer who hooked me with book 1. I do re-read the series when I feel like I need a BDB fix but I don't think I will re-read this one.
